       I first experimented with "ROM hacking" video-games around 1998. After finding a document describing how level data was stored in the ROM for The Legend of Zelda, I built myself an overworld viewer/editor using HyperCard. It used a custom bitmap font to enable a dynamic tiles display, which otherwise would've been complex to achieve in HyperCard.

       @mcc In Quebec, the word "beigne" is used to describe donuts with holes, but also those that are stuffed with cream or fruit jam, as well as munchkins/timbits. "Beignets" may refer to small donuts, but is also used interchangeably with "beigne" regardless of the size.In reality beignets is rarely used casually in Qc as it's seen as an overly fancy way of saying beigne. You'd only see the word beignets on packaging.

       @futurebird @Sean Until 2007, Excel had a limit of 65,536 rows. It was expanded to a million rows with the new .xlsx format. The old .xls format (which some software still output) still have the 65k rows limit.

       @foone For me the screen size seem to make a big difference. I played through Metroid Prime III with no problem on a 20" LCD monitor, but when I tried to play its rerelease a few years later on a 42" TV I got motion sickness pretty quickly.

       @foone This reminds me of the time I wanted to open my Mac Classic by removing the back somewhat forcefully, which hit something inside and I heard "psshhhhh"...Turns out the handle indentation hit the small board on the back of the CRT which broke the little glass tube that was protruding from the middle of that board!

       @yuki I signed it!At least the Simpsons QC dubs are still available on DVDs. The QC dubs of Charlie Brown specials are essentially lost media since Apple got the rights and only has the France dubs on their service.

       @Philsan I understand this, but I would prefer not to see any AI slop images in my timeline, and I've seen quite a few of these from this account recently.        @colo_lee @josephcox This is how a real scientific survey work, it need sociodemographic data to ensure a good representation of the population and to adjust responses weights accordingly when there are underrepresented groups. Surveys that don't do that are unscientific and inherently biased (unless 100% of the target population is surveyed).
