@pluralistic Insane price increases like this are always so puzzling to me. If they’d jumped to say $77, many customers would have just suffered through it. Instead, they made themselves a target of public ridicule and will lose many great customers!AND their actions were a catalyst for many of us to learn about their competitor, https://bookfunnel.com/, HA! @neauoire @gosha Local library as alternative to Amazon/Audible. Kanopy, arte.tv or PBS as alternative to Netflix. If your library is large enough to have a large CD collection, it can also be an alternative to music streaming for older music. Magic Earth as alternative to Apple or Google Maps. Ubuntu, Mint or Fedora are all very stable desktop OSes these days. Vivaldi as alternative to Chrome.
