i want an operating system where the software i use most becomes softly rounded with wear. where force quits leave an inexorable scar across the carapace of a title bar. i want to see dust collecting in the folders i never open and i want to see creases in the binding of the text files i read most. i want my computer to become an heirloom that lives on after me covered in rivulets of age that my descendants can trace and know where my fingers once caressed.
