For the record, I understand the urge to "well actually" jokes if you're the pedantic type, like I am too. I have probably done it myself from time to time, and have had it done to me several times.Just ... don't.It's very annoying for the person who wrote the post, and it is very annoying for people who read it. Being interrupted by ads is far more likely to make me start avoiding a product or brand than actually buying their stuff because I start to associate them with being annoyed.Clearly my reaction is not common enough to make ads unprofitable. Someone told me yesterday of a minutes app for meetings they'd found. Knowing how these apps work, I checked the security policy. I got my fears confirmed. It collects data and share it with 8 third parties, including use for ads & analysis.I showed her this, and said she should probably get consent from others when using the app. Today she told me she'd uninstalled it and thanked me for the warning!We can't expect people to figure this out. Any database wizards out there?I have a table with an ID column. The ID column is unique together with a valid date, so the ID itself is not unique.However, I also need a name column that is unique under the condition that any given name can only correspond to one specific ID (but not necessarily the other way around).The database is PostgreSQL. Apparently Trump has replied to the Prime Minister of Norway that he doesn't believe him when he explained that the Norwegian government doesn't control who the Nobel Committee awards the peace prize to.Trump doesn't seem to understand how separation of power works, and that we do not live in a regime where the government wants to control everything from media to theatre boards to elections.
