People who misunderstand the concept of gender essentialism are exhausting. Saying that only females can be women is no more essentialist than saying that only canines can be puppies. The problem is that they persist in the idea that "woman" and "man" are "genders," totally separate from sex, and project that belief onto other people. Then they interpret "only females can be women" as "only females can possess this totally separate thing called womahood." But the correct interpretation is that women are a subset of human females.

@Ismat raising sons + maintaining a marriage + keeping house requires a lot of personal resources (financial, emotional, etc.), especially for someone who is also working a job. I doubt that most women have much left for other women after all that labor.

@BCLADY If people mistake me for a troll just because I become irate, they are the problem, not me nor any trolls from the past. My words speak for themselves and I've not posted anything trollish. There are no trollish posts in this whole conversation, so "don't feed the trolls" would be a pointless suggestion. @BCLADY I haven't had that experience. I brought up people assuming that I'm a troll because you said that you thought babayaga was warning me about being mistaken for a troll. Honestly, race should not be a uniting force at all because it's a social construct that's useful only for perpetrating racism. Anti-racism should be the uniting force, and talking about racism is a part of anti-racism. Anybody who feels divided from other women because of that discussion is the problem; neither the discussion itself nor its superficial similarities to trolling is not the problem.

I asked a question about something someone else posted on Spinster, and someone responded with a random suggestion that I go to a completely different website for discussion about racism, a website that you can't actually discuss anything on because it's for videos. @kyupin1365 If your iron level is normal, have your vitamin D3 and B12 levels tested, as well as thyroid function. I'm not sure coffee can do this, but Ive experienced this when drinking lots of tea everyday. If any of your tests come back abnormal, cut back on any physical exercise you do; in my experience that makes the vitamin deficiency recovery period worse.
