@Wolven 23 pages?! That is the point where I would consider grabbing one of those "fancy" D3.js interactively clickable branching tree-based data vizualizations to present it, or maybe use https://twinery.org/ to turn it into a choose-your-own adventure interactive text game. Not for the sake of anyone else, mind you, just to make it fun again to proofread my own hypothetical TWENTY-THREE PAGES of CV (damn)

@Wolven Disclaimer: don't watch much Doctor Who (because I don't watch TV in general), but I do appreciate it.So the writing team is living up to the expectations set by casting Ncuti Gatwa? That's a relief. Maybe I'm getting too cynical, but part of me was still worried that they only cast him as lip service instead of them going to push back at what is happening in the UK.

@futurebird @llewelly you're kind of making it sound like ants evolving fungi agriculture may have been the evolutionary equivalent of domesticating a zombie apocalypse.

@futurebird has fungal farming evolved only once in ants, or multiple times? And if multiple times, could anything be learned from the commonalities?

@ZachWeinersmith does the Banach–Tarski paradox apply here in any way? (assume spherical Wolverine)

@Wolven it feels like such a basic and uncontroversial feature to add too

@aralI feel like we should kind of expect that from a profession where people justify being paid more than the average person to themselves by buying into the "meritocracy" nonsense. Especially in open source contexts.(I'm not defending this, just pointing to one of the root systematic filters towards this kind of attitude that needs to be addressed)

@futurebird If you put it like that it feels more like the human equivalent of "nature healing", since I'm sure that our ancestors did a lot of cooperative storytelling. But then again I'm a sucker for the old "Homo Narrans" argumenthttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_narrans

@aral I heard that only some frog species don't actually jump out slowly boiling water. So maybe it's more like half of us are the kind of frog who would like to jump out, but there's a lid on the pot, and the other half of us are the not-jumping frog kind sitting on top of the lid.

@futurebird although I don't think this would make much of a difference, out of curiousity: what temperatures did you use? (I expect water temp to only affect the flavor while seeping leaves)

@futurebird "both delighted and concerned"That's such a frustrating "luxury" problem when it comes to progress in general, isn't it?And if Andrew Wakefield and anti-vaxxers are any indication, the masses forgetting how bad things used to be can be extremely dangerous.

@futurebird lol, I'd argue it's technically not even click bait: the better a plant, animal or any other organism is at giving the middle finger to humans, the more likely Joey Santore will love it and cheer it on. So from that angle the title is honest, it's just implying something most people wouldn't expect

@futurebird I selected all of the options. The "other" choice is mostly that the text makes no sense on a meta-level, where I interpret macro-level as "the interpretation of the text as a whole", and meta-level as "the context within which the text exists".

@futurebird now I wonder what biblically accurate ants look like...No, seriously, this is important! How am I supposed to imagine them crawling onto my picnic blanket signalling "be not afraid!" with their antennae if I don't know the answer to this question?

@futurebird oof, the measles in particular would be a pretty terrifying disease to get again given that it erases previously built-up immunity

@futurebird > Even though the math was wrong these noodles were excellent.Would you say you got 80% of the results for only coming within 20% of a correct answer?"Ehm, I don't think that's a correct use of margin of erro..."The previous joke is also self-referential.

@futurebird Going to side-step the question by answering a slightly different one.If the answer is supposed to represent authoritative truth, an LLM is not a reliable tool. Which excludes points two to eight, because it involved blindly trusting the answers. Points one and eight are suggestions that one may agree with or not.Which leaves all the other considerations implied by "appropriate" (e.g. the ethics of using an LLM) that I don't want to engage with.

So apparently when the display software of the SJ trains crashes it defaults to showing a trailer for Big Buck Bunny as part of its debugging info.

@futurebird I really hop this will converge on an approximate 2:1 ratio to match the lyrics
