@xvw @neauoire Interesting conclusion!"LISP will become obsolete when someone makes a more comprehensive language that dominates LISP practically and also gives a clear mathematical semantics to a more comprehensive set of features."

In this day and age, it's important that we at least hear the word 'peace.'

I think part of the reason I want to retreat into the forest and beat on metal and wood instead of sharing ideas about the world, is the crushing anti-intellectualism even among the so-called intellectuals.Anyway, I am trying to shift my mindset into creating for myself instead of the hoards of haters bound to show up on my doorstep.

@thegibson That helps, thanks. It covers two of the four powers of Buddhist purification: the power of regret and the power of promise.

I learned a bit yesterday about industrialization in middle ages China (Song dynasty), including drilling for salt and natural gas.Would love to learn more about this history and compare with the West's Industrial Revolution.

Ever notice how a lot of movies these days have a strong #ClimateChange plot device?

@alcinnz @mookie I can't decide if it's meant to desensitize us or otherwise just prey on our fears for ratings.Like, you know what, let's just leave saving the planet to the heroes - I'm gonna sit here and eat my popcorn.

@alcinnz Never seen it. But much like the others, I am sure it depends on a brave few to save the world from certain destruction. No movie plot comes to mind that relies on global solidarity and the politicians to stand down from their hubris - if you know what I mean. Such a story must be unimaginable by the writers or otherwise deemed unacceptable by the big movie studios.@mookie

@sashakovich I think it's proposed as a successor to the capitalist model, making it strictly anti-capitalist.I personally like the mantra, "low tech, high life."It views technology not as an end in itself, but as a way to enrich life. Therefore, it requires wisdom and knowledge of using technology sustainably, and knows when to abandon harmful technology.I consider it a natural next step for humans to live on and protect this planet.See the Venus Project as 1 possible vision.

Real talk.. The "Repressed Citizen" scene from Monty Python and The Holy Grail is probably where I first learned about #anarchy and what got me interested in anarcho-syndicalism.
