When #GooglePlay introduced privacy labels, I was very curious to see how they managed to get reliable data about the #privacy properties of Android apps. I know first-hand how difficult and time-consuming privacy audits of Android apps can be. @dentangle Well, I had to fight off putting f-droid.org behind cloudflare. What really scares me is how some people who talk a lot about privacy and foss don't get why companies like cloudflare are toxic for the free and open web ...Now we're spending ~100€/month on webservers plus my volunteered time maintaining it. Cloudflare would sponsor #FDroid traffic for free. But I think it's worth my effort. :)

@daniel @fdroidorg We've devised a new scheme, but I'm not sure if this is going to be final:https://fdroid.link/#repo=https://f-droid.org/repo&fingerprint=43238d512c1e5eb2d6569f4a3afbf5523418b82e0a3ed1552770abb9a9c9ccabWith this we'll hopefully get some sort of privacy friendly way of sharing urls that still works under the constraints of Android intent filtering. It's a separate domain so we can also look into setting up a policy for also adding 3rd party clients to asset-links.json.
