@ActionRetro the part where you say *extremely old* technology is a bit much. It's older/ aging tech but it's not *extremely* old, which I would think of the printing press or ENIAC machine.

@BrodieOnLinux [late to the party] Linux has such a focus on the terminal that no regular user thinks of Linux as user-friendly.

@BrodieOnLinux most of the work on projects is fixing bugs/ patching CVEs and ensuring back compatibility. it is a small group who have bug fixing skills that contribute the most and/or add to the main architecture of a project, which does give them more weight in any say. FOSS is indeed a gift and i love when repos have the 'buy me a coffee' option as a way to give an option for compensation.

@BrodieOnLinux i would safely assume that the median consumer would enjoy this anti-privacy consumer product. it is advertised as helping you remember where your files are, where you placed that report you need to hand in. the target audience is Windows users who will accept high levels of crap because it's all user friendly. Plus it has AI and it's all the rage.

@BrodieOnLinux you made excellent points.was thinking that W11 + Recall will be the most targeted computer in the world. what a treasure once you compromise someone's computer, way beyond passwords. also as you said, domestic abuse victims would greatly suffer if their partner is forcing this OS and turns on this feature. i think Linux will see a small bump is users, maybe a sustained increase if all linux users are nice to Window users who are trying linux.

@BrodieOnLinux the Kali linux was fun, but would be more fun if you called out Parrot OS as it is bloated, especially if you compare to Black Arch
