@BrodieOnLinux I'm reliefed to see that #compsci student's apparently haven't changed a bit. The quality of the picture aside, this might as well have been taken yesterday. You know what? Forget about the quality. We probably have someone interested in retro-photography.

@lproven Nothing about this is news.I knew all of this and still recommended #Brave, simply because it's a good #browser. In fact one of the best alternatives for private browsing out there, especially for people coming from other chromium based browsers. This article barely delivered any valid argument against using it to begin with. It bashed the CEO for like half of it and then creats panic about affiliate links and randomly goes into crypto. What a joke.

@lproven And since the article recommends #Vivaldi, why don't you take a look at https://privacytests.org/ and see for yourself just how bad it performs compared to #Brave?Of course you can mitigate all this as much as you can turn #Firefox into a bastion, but I don't recommend Brave to people who want 100% perfect privacy. I recommend it to people who want to put exactly 0 effort into it.#browser #privacy

@zbecker @mattl #Linux is both a #kernel and an idea. The idea of a free #operatingSystem, abiding some concepts. What a #distro is called is up to the distributors. If that bothers you, write a license agreement that addresses this.We should really ask ourselves why we're even having this Linux vs. GNU/Linux debate. Is it about GNUs visibilty? Is it about being more precise with our naming? Or is it about putting yourself above others? I have a strong feeling it's no. 3 for too many people.

@corey @lyonsinbeta Arch is odd in that regard, because it was actually specifically designed to have a swappable package management frontend. The libalpm (Arch Linux Package Management) API was split off pacman at some point, to facilitate this flexibility. Yet most people use either pacman or a pacman wrapper like yay or paru.So even thought they explicitly gave users the freedom of choice, they just made a thing an everyone liked it 😄
