@alexsleepy @y6nH @rghvdberg I've actually set up a Rocket.Chat server on a tiny Linode node, but I need to set up SSL for it and make sure it's stable and safe fro everyone to use. The next step would be to bridge it with Discord somehow (Matterbridge?). I'm not particularly good at this, so that's gonna take some time. @falktx Ok, I don't mind personally, as it let's others people find me and follow me, and I also get to see who else I may want to follow and I know I've been recommened. I like to know when people talk about me :)At least - this doesn't happen so often to be annoying to me. And I do appreciate the exposure.

@falktx @unfa@mastodon.social Ah, that's a good idea. The connections seem tight - I used a similar setup fro years with a dangling cable and the cables never slipped out of the block. Though it won't hurt to fix it.

@Hyolobrika @aral The issue is - 95% of anything related to cryptocurency or blockchain I see is some kind of scheme to exploit the gullible and multiply riches. And it seems hordes of individuals chasing a profit have lost a lot in the process. The same goes for NFTs, which seems to be money laundering tool more than anything else. And for smaller-than-huge artists they generate losses, not profit.Technology is ethically neutral. But it's use cases are not. And the results are terrible.

@Hyolobrika @aral Maybe you're right. The vastness of the Internet has both it's amazing benefits that help the world, and it's dark valleys of doom. That's why I said a tool is ethically neutral.I have not seen much legitimate uses for cryptocurrency, unlike some other technology.And even the good use-cases still contribute to enormous environmental impact that cryptocurrencies have.The currencies are not really that good for paying, because they are too volatile - and that attracts traders.

@nuclear Another question: if someone plays my tracks via Nuclear from Soundcloud, Bandcamp or Audius, will it count as a play in public stats? If not - is it possible for you to make it so? For small and beginner artists every bit counts and sometimes, having these 200 playbacks more may be just enough to push someone to work on their craft! Enjoying music should always be in line with supporting creating music, otherwise it's not a sustainable practice, and we're starving the artists we need!
