@lauren Given that we recently had a global pandemic, economic crisis, and war, my guess is that they downed a UFO and it'll trigger an intergalactic war this year 🍿

@arnicas Or maybe it was reading too much of the Zen masters, who knows?

@lauren Believe it or not, but outside of the US that's generally still the case.

Have you seen the issues and PR's in the #twitter repo? You probably did. It's crazy. Should we call it shitPR-ing? I'm so sorry about some #GitHub developers who did meaningful things for the community and now would need to deal with solving this. Not that Elon doesn't deserve it. https://github.com/twitter/the-algorithm/

@clive Agree. I switched to DuckDuckGo a while ago and it works 99% of the time as good as Google served me. Rarely I g! something, but in such a case it's 50:50 if it's any better. Plus, every time I switch to Google I'm shocked how many ads and other trash vs results are there nowadays.

@louis @wilfredh What happens when you use compiler flags? When I was playing around with building a Lisp interpreter in Rust, with proper compiler flags the binary was in kb rather than mb. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3861634/how-to-reduce-go-compiled-file-size

Did you know that the great http://pola.rs #rustlang library has a #cli application that lets you run SQL queries over files (csv, json, parquet) and databases? https://github.com/pola-rs/polars/tree/main/polars-cli

@jasongorman Makes total sense. Btw, exposing your code to small amounts of bugs and viruses makes it stronger as it builds immunity. So drop one-off here and there from time to time.
