@SDF Thank you for plugging away at it! The SDF instance is *much* more usable than it was :-)

When I'm not writing software or dorking around with nuclear physics, I like to write short stories for the "Humans Are Space Orcs" subreddit. It's not often that I get to combine all three, but sometimes the planets align and everything comes together:https://old.reddit.com/r/humansarespaceorcs/comments/z35bmp/humanity_has_yet_to_discover_ftl_because_were_too/ixrj7fb/I know that not everything the aliens are saying is perfectly true, but if it pleases you, ascribe those discrepancies to a mix of "aliens misunderstand Earth technology" and "in the future things are a bit different".

@art Well, the *first* first thing I see is a list of windows and tabs and a button to restore them. Then I click that, and see whatever I was looking at when I closed it.#PaleMoon ftw

My pocket cluster hardware died a year ago, and after much agonizing I finally pulled the trigger on buying hardware for a "new" one (albeit with old hardware). Got four Dell T7910 with two E5-2990 v3 each, mostly for running GEANT4, ROCStar hydrocode, and (more recently) llama.cpp and nanoGPT. They each have four PCIe x16 3.0 slots, and I'm eyeing refurb GPUs for them (or at least one of them) for LLM acceleration, both training and inference. #HPC #LLM #homelab
