@stux @TonyStark @Gargron @Gargron The point of my feature request is that there should really be no justifiable use case where a single IP address should need to create a large number of accounts within a short time frame. Implementing this would limit the damage these attacks can do proactively.

@stux @TonyStark Not sure @Gargron @Gargron is keen on it though, looks like the development view is we just stick to reactively blocking IP addresses after the fact, which is a pain in the neck.

@stux What's your total service/process/thread count now? My streaming server has absolutely died, getting 502 errors now. Bringing the number of processes up but not really helping.

BORING TECHNICAL UPDATE: We'd been trialling inline language translation via DeepL (a paid service) but that is going to cost a fortune if we keep using it at this rate.I've instead installed LibreTranslate on one of our servers which won't provide the same quality of translation, but is free! Let's use it for a while and see if it's good enough.

@aral We are, but we’ve also had a handful of accounts that are almost certainly scams. Our moderators are working with contacts who can vouch for validated individuals, but this is onerous and not foolproof. Regarding the account you mentioned earlier, this has already been validated with us and we’ve put a note on the account to confirm.
