@davew It's more like she's offering a hunk of wood with nails in it, vs. a platter of shit with bits of broken glass, tbh. I would much rather have a nice wooden log and maybe we can remove the nails, and you know, it won't smell or make me sick... but neither is edible. Oh and the log is also supporting genocide, which makes it a tougher call. Rooting for log with nails, just to be clear. Go log with nails. Yay log. God I wish this were that simple. I really do.

I'm scared how misunderstood LLMs and GenAI truly are; they are so far from a genuine intelligence it's not even funny. They are statistical models for language, trained on a lot of words and sentences, representing the statistical likelihood of words following other words, sentences following other sentences, just with a lot of data and samples to pull from. That's it. There's no intelligence, there's no path to intelligence; it's simply statistics chaining words and symbols together.

@carnage4life I think this is what anyone who thinks about politics at least once a month does not understand:50-60% of people do not think about politics. At all. It’s not that they don’t care, it just never even factors into their life. They literally vote for the person who says things they think might help with problems they had last week, or the one who makes them feel slightly more cool than the other one. Or the guy they think looks like a president shape, and feels like he might be leadery.People are mostly in their own world thinking about their own problems and making decisions based on instinct. The thoughtful political decision maker is a tiny minority, but we focus on them as though they’re 99% of the population. Profound mistake.

@stux I feel like morality has kind of a social component. Like if everyone has some level or morality then you’re more likely to follow the crowd; but if everyone else is making immoral decisions, then why shouldn’t you? Sad but true.
