@abcdw Melon Husk has taken control of birdsite and people are fleeing. Or at least establishing an evacuation route if it all goes to hell. 😀

@abcdw @Natanox Mmm, more that the 'free speech' bros are going to turn it into Gab or 4chan.

Hmm, we seem to have lost translation services. Pity, that was pretty cool.

Project for the day: Screwing with XMPP bots, because doing matrix bots seems to be an enormous pain in the ass.Future fiddling: Possibly look into getting the chatbot to talk to home automation stuff.#xmpp #python

Hey assorted peoples and hacky types... I have a friend that is blind, and uses RFID stickers on things in their pantry so they can identify the contents of containers. But the app they use on their phone for writing the tags isn't very good for a blind person. Anyone have any suggestions for RFID writers for an android phone/windows laptop, preferably free/very cheap (especially if it involves hardware for the laptop)?

Someone actually asked so here's my take on the ancient holy war:If you want a fast text editor with syntax highlighting that's good for fast editing and stuff like that, then #vim is probably for you.If you want an integrated environment that you can customize and extend from the ground up to do almost anything you want and don't mind that you'll probably never learn all it does then #emacs is probably for you. Neither is bad, they're just different tools for different purposes.
