       @dynode @datenwolf @VQuaschning Exactly. What are 5 more fossil years if we are fossil and nuke free from then on?Nuke was the easiest to ditch, and also important to ditch, as there is no „peaceful“ nuclear energy.Nuclear energy means dependency.

       @kravietz @datenwolf @dynode @VQuaschning Well, in the first place Germany should have started building on renewables way earlier.That’s the mistake. Not shutting down nukes with a 3% portion of the energy mix.But hätte hätte Fahrradkette, now there’s an absolute need for renewables.Restarting (or first repairing) the 3% would do absolutely nothing besides increasing energy prices.

It doesn’t matter how fast other nations can build them.If all the other countries are running on „low carbon“ (you actually mean: highly dependent on radioactive materials) then Germany can happily import energy from them if needed. Germany doesn’t need own nukes. Neither weapons, nor plants.
