@stux @nazokiyoubinbou It wouldn't seem realistic to make it instadeath but I have an idea. If there are NPC guards, the second they attack the cat, it meows and the guards swarm the player to attack the player who dared attack the cat

@stux @TimWardCam Is there an equivalent of Child Protective Services that you can report this to?

@stux It's a legal issue.Do you really know? There's always unforeseen events and they don't want to have to refund a bunch of money or be accused of false advertising if what you say you will do never happens

@Shuffle1704 No country has completely free speech. Not even the US had it because treason is defined in the Constitution and the Alien and Sedition Acts were signed in 1798, which restricted speech on the grounds of national defense.Stux is in the Netherlands, which has strict laws against hate speech and criminalizes facilitation of it too, so servers he owns must ban speech that violates them or he will get in trouble as well@stux

@stux This is no longer the deepest hole in the world. In 2008, an offshore oil well in the Persian Gulf reached 12,289 m (40,320 feet) deep

@stux FFS, at least get the approval of the family before considering such a thing.Bob Monkhouse's family allowed his likeness to be used after his death for a prostate cancer awareness ad, so it's not impossible to do this responsibly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quxOMX1jl1w

@stux There has been at least one bill introduced to suspend payment to senators and House representatives while the government is shut down: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/3538The above bill's sponsor is not in Congress anymore because she's running for governor of Virginia

@stux @sortius There is one hell of a high bar to clear in the US for defamation . It has to be a statement of fact, said statement is wrong, said statement caused damage, and for defamation against a public official, it has to be done with actual malice: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Times_Co._v._Sullivan

@stux Whatever it is, it needs to fit the niche where the player is getting the enjoyment from accomplishing the task itself while it's still mindless enough that they can just slap on some of their own music and relax while playing it

@stux What exactly are you trying to save to make the save file so huge? You can probably reduce it to flags or variables, save them, and then load the game back to the correct state based off of them

@stux I think we can make it expandable without having to overhaul the system each time by assigning an id to each actor, saving the necessary fields for each actor in an object, and then having a dictionary for each actor type with the id of the actor as the key and then the value as the object you made for the actorIf you need to add more actors, you add to the dictionary with a unique id. If you remove actors, ignore ids that don't exist in the game anymore. If there are ids missing when you load the save for actors you've added to the game in the meantime, use default values as though they were brand new

@stux At Thanksgiving, all of the parents would put slips of paper with names on them in a hat, one for each of their kids under 18, to buy them a present for Christmas. After shuffling it around, they pulled out a slip for every one they put in.If they got one of their own kids, they put it back and pulled another one or traded with someone so they never bought a present for their own kids. That's how they knew that it would be a surprise for the kid on Christmas Eve

@stux For GTA VI, it's taken 13 years of hundreds of developers, testers, voice actors, artists, and licensed music to come up with what looks like a continuation and refinement of Vice City which came out back in 2002 on the PS2.I wonder if they'll come up with an original story this time instead of continuing to rip off Scarface
