Working in open source means that when you lose your job you just keep working on the same stuff, only you’re not getting paid for it now.

…which is not a complaint by the way. In fact this is a good thing. For me, it’s an opportunity to focus on the things I care about, keep active in the community and hopefully 🙏 find a new role that will continue to support my participation in open source.

…which is a round-about way of saying I’m open to work and looking for new opportunities in the Open Source / Open Standards / Web / Dev Advocacy space.

@partizan @neil @paolo it might just be that it only works for a set number of visits. Anyway basically "data brokers gonna broke."

@Edent my rule is never to give any information to someone who calls me - ever. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognise, which I think also deters this kind of scam. If I get a notification, receive a letter in the post (has happened), or get a call about fraud, I call the bank on the number on my card or on their web site.

For the avoidance of doubt: nothing changes. MAGA is still a hate cult. Climate change is still real. Earth is still round. Vaccines are still effective. Trans and non-binary people are valid. Women are people. Black lives matter. Love is love. No person is illegal. Hold your ground. Double down.

A web browser should *NEVER* be able to look inside your clipboard without an explicit user action (such as ctrl-v). Honestly, this should not be a controversial statement. Microsoft Edge is one of the browsers that ships this dangerous capability. Here is the dialog you need to hunt for to turn this API off.

Today is F day … when I am scheduled to (finally) get "full fibre" to my front door. Will it be fulfilling? Or will it be a flop?

Lord save me from "how did we do?" emails? I bought a loaf of bread. It was good. There's nothing more I would like to share. There is no need for additional data collection, measurement, sentiment analysis, or follow-up. It was bread. It performed its one job admirably. Please let me eat in peace without contributing to your OKRs.

Presented my intro remarks to the UN workshop on Technical Standards and Human Rights at #IETF123. Slides here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1h9VaRly3WVgMn0xE6tk_Aktlzvi_wFsvi6-ACca5YHM/edit?usp=sharing It's a bit of a summary of what we've done so far with wide review in the W3C, how we developed the Ethical Web Principles, what that has to do with Human Rights and why we even need to think about this topic in the first place. Spoiler: "Technology without ethics makes social inequality worse.” (Apologies to Ryan Gosling.)
