@EC_DIGIT @tnt Friendly suggestion: don’t assume people know what this is about. More context might be useful.

#Python is !@#$; I have to use a script (for work) that someone else wrote. His Python is 3.6, mine 3.10. Result: endless chain of brokenness. I wish everybody would just stop using this garbage.

@attie @whitequark @esden @charlotte Finally had time to read it. It was great and now I think I understand how to use Glasgow - seems quite straightforward, thanks.

@attie @whitequark @esden @charlotte And just in time. This thing of unrivaled beauty but somehow much smaller than I imagined has arrived at my desk. At nearly three years it’s been quite the adventure.Congratulations!

@esden @attie @whitequark @charlotte Thanks. That metal enclosure really makes it next-level. Pretty cool.

Say what you want about Lichee, but they are firing on all cylinders getting the #RISCV TH1520 into all sorts of products.Tom's Hardware is reporting on a 7" $300+ mini notebook: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/risc-v-laptop-looks-like-thinkpad_Almost_ pocket sized.

I want an @ActionRetro -like video channel but using #NetBSD. Not sure if there is an audience for it, but it would be amazing and should allow for some pretty old hardware to run modern software.

@tomjennings Usagi Electric or System Source Museum would be better home than CHM honestly- and I live really close to CHM. Unfortunately their priorities is more on stories and hording. Extremely little of what they have is displayed in running conditions.

@vik @trevorflowers I have the reinvention of this (the Gemini PDA) and it was a big disappointment; the keyboard was wobbly and it was too bulky.A modern (eInk?) version of HP Jornada would be interesting IMO.

@vik @trevorflowers I say that, but what I would actually use and carry would be a good pocket sized BLE keyboard. I have many of them, but none are great and none have customizable firmwire (eg. they suck for SSH sessions).I think this shows the way forward: https://www.reddit.com/r/olkb/comments/1e4xrf4

@regehr Serious question: how does the effort used to get to the current performance level for BF compare to what it would have taken for something less insane, say the LCC VM (which formed the bases for the Quake III VM).

@jcs You sent me down a rat-hole and then I lost my comment :)TL;DR: 32-bits for time was always stupid. Here's the opposite extreme: https://cr.yp.to/libtai.html which is 192-bits for billion of years with attosec precision.

@ActionRetro I knew the headbanging was coming, but I still laughed. This is such a gorgeous build. I might finally pull the trigger and install my PCB, but I think I'll keep the M4 external, tucked away.

@1bitsquaredstoreusa The page is missing some details, like “PSRAM is now mounted by default (64MBit QSPI)”: is that the total or for each of the two PSRAM chips (I assume the latter)Also, the is no link to schematics (the link on the top of the page is for version 1.0b)
