@kekuserNo. I will apply the same rules. But the app is open source so forking it will do the trick.

@DashEqualsYes, I will do that globally as an app dev choice. I won't enter a ban in product flavors.

@inditootMany people take time to kindly tell me that the reply of that question is of course a "no" .I personally took a lot of time before making a such hard decision. Being seen like a censorship is not an easy matter, especially when you do respect the freedom of expression. My choice is based on further reading on how and why gab was blocked. I don't want to help them in their move with all risks that I don't deserve.

@kemonineOk. Live notifications allow the app to listen to the streaming api with websockets. But if they are disabled, a second service should run every 15 minutes to gather what's new. I think this one fails and I need to investigate.

@selea*.gab.comI wanted to add something that checks domains from a certificate but that's maybe too much.

@TheFuzzStoneAs far as it's not a social network making a move to Mastodon for getting around of a previous ban from app stores, I will no act. It's the guideline that I defined with this event.

To be clear with what "block Gab" means. The app will not allow to connect a Gab account. I don't want that Fedilab replaces the Gap app that has been banned from stores. In any case the app will block toots coming from Gab. It's up to you to make this choice by using the block instance feature inside the app or to ask your admins to do so.I hope to be clearer.

@alexl It only avoids the app to be use as a Gab app, because it has been banned. So people couldn't connect their Gab accounts.Toots coming from Gab won't be blocked. That's up to users to use the feature to block a whole instance or to ask their admin to do so.

The app will not allow to connect a Gab account. But the app will NOT block toots coming from Gab. It's up to you to make this choice by using the block instance feature inside the app or to ask your admins to do so.PS: I fixed a misspelling from my previous message, sorry.#Fedilab

@AndStatusI thought to that, but if the server delivering blacklist is down, that means every instances will be allowed or forbidden depending of the choice.

@wjmaggosQuick reply :1. No afaik2. Yes3. No, you will be able to follow/see them. It's a moderation issue not related to an app. My idea is to apply the same process whatever the social network. If there is a move to Mastodon because they have been banned from other stores, I won't allow them to use the app with all risk that can bring.
