@shacker I like the architecture. A bit dark though.

Hey @FreeCAD, I have fixed the crisper cover of a fridge.Looks simple enough, but there were some steps involved to clear the broken hinge element and get the measurements right. (I added a stencil to get the holes in the right places.)https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7117281#FreeCAD #FreeCADFriday #DIY #3DPrint

Hey @FreeCAD!I have modeled replacement tips for a stylus. It's not easy to print such fine structures, but I'm confident I will be able to produce working ones, once the conductive filament arrives.Has anyone of you ever tried making some?#FreeCAD #FreeCADFriday #CAD #3DPrint #DIY

Update on the 3D-printed stylus tips:The conductive filament is too brittle. You might be luckier with different filament but I think it will always be less stable than non-conductive filament. There is a tradeoff between stability and conductivity. However, the conductiveness actually does the trick. If – and as long as – the tip doesn't come off, it actually works! This is not a productive success, but at least it fed my curiosity. 🤓

I made another batch of stylus tips:This time only the top is printed in conductive PLA, while the rest, including the thread, is in PLA+.This is a more stable solution and I got the feedback that it works much better. I cannot test it myself but it seems to be a viable solution.#FreeCAD #MadeWithFreeCAD #CAD #3DPrint #DIY

@FreeCADThe stylus has a small tube with a protruding, spring-loaded pogo pin that ensures the electrical contact with the tip.The problem with the original tip is, it has a very tight spot where the wall diameter is very narrow due to the protruding tube. This is probably the predetermined breaking point that reduces the durability.I have created a slightly convex model that is still close to the original and the thicker one I posted before.#FreeCAD #FreeCADFriday #3DPrint #DIY

@FreeCAD I fixed a USB hub, HooToo Shuttle HT-UC007.The device has two major problems impacting its longevity:1. The finish of the back was rubberized. It turns into sticky chewing gum after only a few years.2. The Ethernet port was designed as a movable part to save ~2mm in height. The spring pushes it apart, rendering it unusable.I made a 3D-printable model to replace the flawed back.https://www.printables.com/model/1512947-hootoo-shuttle-ht-uc007-case-replacement-part#FreeCAD #FreeCADFriday #DIY #3Dprint

@FreeCAD I did a quick fix on my freezer yesterday. There is a shelf in the freezer compartment that tended to fall off each time you looked at it sideways. So I quickly drafted and printed a retainer in #FreeCAD. Problem solved! 😁#FreeCADFriday

       I made a magnetic enclosure for an ESP32-CAM to monitor my 3D printer.I call it Matey Cam, akin to Prusa's Buddy Cam.https://www.printables.com/model/1599116#FreeCAD #FreeCADFriday #3DPrint #3DPrinting #PrusaCOREOne
