@futurebird As someone who dabbled in the creepy stories realm (and still may one day) I can honestly say that you might just bring someone back from the brink of giving up by doing that.Being reminded that people would be sad if they didn't have your creations anymore is a powerful, powerful thing.Disney gets enough of that. Really nice of you!

@futurebird As long as you and your students don't have to sign any rights away (unacceptable arbitration clause wording, etc) then it's just science.I'm sure most people won't change their browser to OpenAI's newest thing, but everyone I know will probably try it just to see what it does and how it works. As long as they aren't spiking the punch bowl in their terms ....

@futurebird You've heard of water-cooled and oil-cooled, right? Well, these are money-cooled. You have to submerge the entire industry in money until all the air bubbles escape from the top. Then, after drowning in capital, and only then, will it be pronounced profitable.

@futurebird So, they: - Market the loneliest part of the population, which also tends to intersect with the most vulnerable (physically, emotionally and financially)- With a product that has absolutely no published testing, safeguards, or evidence that they're safe, in the face of mounting evidence that they aren't,- And a CEO who is quoted as saying they'll figure out getting sued when "it probably happens" Companies like this is why I devote what's left of my life to open source.

@futurebird Pennington Ave in Curtis Bay, Maryland. - Intellectual dysfunction sets in like barometric pressure and weighs on you for approximately 1.3 kilometers of road.- Shoes on every telephone wire, street lamp and fence.- I once swore I saw time go backwards there in the 90s but I had also just discovered Goldschläger.- Seeing someone strapped to the roof of a moving car would not even interest anyone walking nearby.- Poe probably bought opium there.

@futurebird The same way cannabis has so many floral aromas, lovely little terpenes :)Oolong in particular has Nerolidol, Linalool, Geraniol and even some monoterpenes like Myrcene and limonene). Those are just the ones in common with cannabis. When you add jasmine and others, then you have the beauty that is oolong. Tea enhances the effects of cannabis if paired strategically. But they get their fruity notes from the same compounds, which they produce mostly to repel bugs.

@futurebird This is also how I look at it. I can't acclimate to DST; I dredge through dealing with everyone else going along with it until, mercifully and predictably, it ends.I feel safer in the dark / fog for some reason and fall mornings are glorious in Baltimore.

@futurebird The other ugly issue is the number of foreign-owned hydroponic farm facilities that have been quietly sucking the water table dry in that region for decades. I found out about them when looking into possibly picking up a few cheap acres out there to start a homestead. You don't realize how bad it is until you go to drill a well ...Alfalfa sprouts, micro greens, that kinda stuff is what's drying them out even more.
