@bgtlover @Linux AFAIK #flatpak does not support packaging system services/daemons, it is made for desktop applications only. See also https://openprinting.github.io/OpenPrinting-News-March-2022/#flatpak-and-printing Tell me if this has changed in the mean time. #Snap explicitly supports packaging daemons ...

@BrodieOnLinux @popey Also still near one hour to go, but up to where I watched it I loved it! Learned a lot about how Snap was born and how Popey was a Snap advocate this time. Thanks Popey !!! (and also thanks Brodie for inviting Popey) I am currently updating all the #OpenPrinting Snaps to core22 and they get tested for the all-Snap #UbuntuSummit Desktop ... Computers should just work. Plug'n'Print, not Plug'n'Play (plug the hardware and play for hours with the drivers).

@BrodieOnLinux @popey I have watched all the 2 hours now!! Never knew that there are so long YouTube shows (which are not conference recordings) as long as a movie! But this one was amazing! Brodie and Popey, you could produce a weekly series, or Brodie, you simply actually join Linux Matters ...

@killyourfm @thunderbird @linuxflower I could never imagine that this photo (from LAS2023 in Brno) shows Heather (left, next to me) with her future manager Jason (front right).It is really sad to not have her any more in Canonical's Desktop Team. She was really a great colleague. I remember all my conversation with her on LAS 2022, also my Snap workshop series with her on the Ubiuntu Sumit 2022 ..All the best at Thunderbird (I am user)!And we at Canonical: Snapping like Hell(sworth)!
