@dick_turpin @intrbiz "oh fedora does desktop stuff" "no problem let's run a rolling release centos on the prod server"... So back up this rather biased and rude version of a conversation that never happened. If you were testing centos stream with your application how do you know exactly what RHEL build release will match that?

@intrbiz @dick_turpin I agree in a way and don't know if I should be euphoric or depressed about it. Everything is now containers, I am now trying to not to go off on a rant as to the shit quality of containers...

@dick_turpin I would say they deserve each other but actually the customer is the victim here as there is no indication that they have any IT experience the "Engineer" on the other hand didn't try to find out any information on the issue and was just lazy.

Dear drivers, if you see an older car in traffic, in a queue, going up a hill please give them extra room and patience they don't have all the bells and whistles your modern car has you don't want it rolling back into you, that isn't going to help anyone. This message is dedicated to some utter assholes in Worcester earlier. You didn't get there any faster by being a dick. In a queue an 87 year old Austin Seven can easily keep pace with your modern spaceshipcar...

Also if Worcester actually had a ringroad that went all the way around it might take some traffic out of going through the middle of a load of medieval street layouts...

@dick_turpin at the risk of being "I AM 87 YOU KNOW" a lot of drivers on the road just focus on their own portable armchairs and don't have any situational awareness for other road users be that pedestrians, cyclists or aged vehicles.

@dick_turpin it will be a crap car crash as you can't fit that much story arc into a film, they will skim the concepts and miss the point

@dick_turpin unlikely as it sounds Argos are awesome if you need something ASAP and do stock a mad range of stuff. Need a ratchet set at 7pm and yours is 40 mile round trip? Order online swan into store show/tell code number and leave with item as it will be ready, no waiting. Their delivery stuff is great they do same or next day (depending on when you order) but they will text you when you are the next stop and I had to pop out you can call the carrier to tell them where to leave it

@dick_turpin wait I wasn't the one that plugged the ENTIRE front of house into a single 13A socket so when we opened the front door instead of booming LRL intro music the afore mentioned Mr Bacon playing a squeeze box or something because he had tripped the circuit breaker and we didn't have access to reset it which meant all Main Stage stuff had to be shuffled into the Theatre until we could get the facilities bloke to come out and reset it and then split the load with another supply

@dick_turpin iirc that was the same year that Alan Cox the famed Liinux kernel maintainer turned up as a special guest only to be met by the sight of Adam Sweet in a thong and a raccoon head on the main stage.....

@stannard also tbh the way my windscreen leaks it doesn't make that much difference if it is open or closed!
