@ky0ko ARM Cortex M chips are like that. The max wattage/frequency is set stupidly low, so you won't ever be able to use it for a desktop, but at the same time, the chip stays low power no matter what it's doing.

@angristan Nice? That set of changes seems entirely dedicated to lefty admins upset about people that disagree with them politically.* Censoring wrongthink trends.* Blocking wrongthink servers.* Enhanced ban messages.Keep in mind the "genius" behind those commits is for all intents and purposes a Communist, with a major bone to pick with non-leftist groups using Mastodon.

RMS: "Hey maybe we shouldn't charge someone with assault if he had no reason to believe he was violating the law."Cancel culture: "REEEEEEEEEEEE"FOSS: damagedIntel agencies: happySJWs, feminism, cancel culture, etc. are a weapon designed to crack open insular cultural spaces and destroy them from within, whether that's a video gaming forum or a country. The proper response to such attempts to infiltrate is "go away", with an intensity modifier of your choice.

@sir Are you using 9front? They've got better wifi driver support than upstream plan9.

@sir @kgz How's golang performance under 9front? Comparable to Linux/BSD? Slow but usable?

@sir the curse of drivers. How elegant an OS is doesn't matter if it won't talk to my hardware.

@sir I do make sure all my hardware works with Linux, and most of it works with the BSDs as well (including my USB SDR device), but 9front is still pretty limited in what it can do with hardware. I don't want to spend my time writing kernel drivers for hardware that already works on half a dozen other Free Software OSes.

@chgowiz @kimlockhartga They're not just asking for it, they're SUBSIDIZING it. The reason "smart TVs" are so cheap is that the shitware companies are paying to have their services included in a non-customizable firmware image. You need to charge higher prices for a product with fewer features, to mitigate a risk that only tech nerds understand... so the hoi polloi get spyware appliances.
