ok so the "account move" feature is WILDafter initiating a move, the new account immediately starts getting hammered with "new follower" notifications as the followers get moved over

One thing I didn’t mention in my #introduction - I really like #EnamelPins. It started in #Disneyland one year when a stranger gave me a pin while we were on line for a ride.Then I started buying Disney pins on each visit.And then I started *designing* pins! For my dinosaur and raccoon pals.I keep all of the pins on a board near my desk. I look at them while in meetings. 😊

Watching the downfall of Twitter has me wondering - what *other* online services do I rely on? And if any of them disappeared tomorrow, what would be the impact to me?Email? Social media? Domain name services? Bill pay? Banking? Authentication?

I’ve seen several posts about how some small instances are considering defederating from mastodon.social. I understand the reasoning behind why a server admin may want to do that.But there’s no mention of how many instances, or how many total users those instances contain. Thus it feels really difficult for an individual to quantify the impact of that action. There’s not enough data to answer the question "if I’m on mastodon.social, what’s the impact to me?"

I wish that this graph was visible in some way. So you could see which instances talked to each other. But I understand how this might result in harassment of instances that chose to defederate some servers.

@gossithedog one thing I appreciate about Hachyderm is that they (the admins/mods) propose ideas for the server and community via Github issues. Folks can comment on these proposals, and then they come to a decision. One potential approach for you would be to setup a Github project, propose this idea via an issue, and anyone that may be interested can chime in.
