We have now entered twilight. The sky is going to start growing brighter; faint objects will become lost in the glow, the telescope will not be able to correct its seeing as well, and eventually there will be no guide stars bright enough to keep the telescope pointed accurately. When in the morning one chooses to call it a night is a function of many variables; for me, I was out of bright targets and I can see the blue in the sky already.

Today was a rush; losing the first two-thirds to bad weather, I was blitzing as fast as I could to get the most out of the night. Lots of short visits, churning through a target list as fast as I could. Some nights, there's 45 minute exposures stacked back-to-back, and you can slowly work your way to dawn; other nights are like today, when you barely have time to do anything but observe. @skipfordj Realizing how fast you're going on a proper high speed rail is a great feeling. I've heard Japan has some nice slower, narrow gauge lines worth experiencing too.

@notthatdelta I haven't done the Chunnel yet, but it's one of those things that's just too cool to process. A TRAIN, traveling under the OCEAN, to a separate COUNTRY, and it's not even a big deal?!?!

I just finished watching Weird. Fun movie, Daniel Radcliffe has one of the more enjoyable career arcs of child actors. And you've just got to appreciate how much cultural impact a guy with an accordion was able to have over the past forty years. I think that, at this point, #WeirdAl has earned national treasure status.

Is reacting to an #email a thing now? Can it not be a thing? I'm a huge fan of unnecessary reactions on Slack, and I've accepted that text messages will get hearts on them now, but can we not have mail clients send emails saying that a heart emoji has been added to my email? Is this a Zoomer thing? I'm getting old and youth and technology frighten me.
