I'm #queer (#nonbinary #asexual #aromantic), #neurodivergent (self- and peer-diagnosed #AuDHD along with sensory differences like #synesthesia and auditory processing disorder), and #disabled (a tangled neurological mess).I'm an urban dweller with a dog and as such love high-density housing with plenty of public greenspace. My #urbanism ties into other beliefs I have in community building, the environment, economic justice, etc, despite living in a hostile city where your humanity is measured by the size of your car. (For my experiences as a pedestrian where I live, follow my alt account @walkipeg)The thought of sharing my cultural tastes gives me immense anxiety, for once someone knows what music I listen to or TV I watch, my entire character will be placed on trial and I must defend myself with perfect knowledge and moral justification of my tastes. Children are great, I had fun with the [counts] eleven niblings and nth-cousins-once-removed at the event today (all under 10 years old), but it definitely makes it harder to relate to the parents in groups. The more people you get together, if the majority of them are parents then they will gravitate to talking about children even if that's not the intent of the gathering (though it basically was in this case). And half the time nothing I could have to say will click enough with them anymore to spark engaging conversation.If you don't have kids or want your interactions with parents to be about their kids, then you're SOL until their kids grow up if you want to bond with them.

The street on one of our regular walking routes dips down, while the grounds of the office building stay level thanks to a concrete wall. O'Malley likes to walk on this wall as I sink down beside her, until my sidewalk comes back up again. At the lowest point of the sidewalk, she's above my head. It's adorable.
