@fifo Erasing an optical disc? As for myself, the only drutil command i ever used was "drutil tray eject" to force eject the disc in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro.

So, I decided to order a MacBook Pro mid 2007 for parts for a decent price to leave mine in a decent condition (i wanted to replace the screen, speakers, put a superdrive in it, and the aluminum frame) and I got it today. So far, this "restoration" is going pretty well.

I got done putting the machine back together last night, and now it's time to reinstall Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard in this... And yes, btw, this screen has a little defect on the left side, but it's much better than having a backlight that looked awful.

@fifo Maybe one day I would try self-hosting my own instance, however, one of my Core 2 Duo laptops finally decided to die, and this time, no matter what I do, it doesn't come back to life. I have two more Core 2 Duo machines (MacBook Pro mid 2007 and IBM ThinkPad T60) but I want to keep using them as laptops...

So, after unboxing this phone, I made sure everything was working just fine, and then used the WebUSB-based installer of GrapheneOS to install GrapheneOS, which is in my opinion one of the greatest mobile operating systems when it comes to privacy and security. Check out grapheneos.org if you would like to make your own freedom phone.
