@thelinuxcast Especially when you know that the answer to what you're looking for is right there behind that popup.

@Linux @mozilla Firefox: an open-source NON-Google (funded by Google) web browser that snoops on “less stuff than Google but still sends home by default” I love Firefox but Mozilla has kind of steered from their philosophy a bit. #mozilla #firefox

@hyde ah ive seen this take a few times, but only ever here on mastodon. While I get where you’re coming from, the phrase “content creator” is mainly used in the YouTube space and I think it fits very well. People are creating content for other people to watch and enjoy. And within those content creators there are most definitely artists of all walks of life. Photographers, videographers, painters, woodworkers, etc. but then on the other hand - not all content creators are artists themselves. Rather it be that they don’t consider themselves artists or they’re literally just not artists. Because some content creators are just awful lol. But the majority of content creators are people who genuinely have a love and passion for what they’re doing and in turn are artists themselves.I don’t know. It just seems like sometimes the takes I see here on mastodon are very “I’m edgy and I go against the grain” when in reality they’re not that deep at all.

@tilvids @mozilla And if we could just get mozilla to actually turn off telemetry when a user changes the setting, that'd be nice. I love #firefox and I'll never not use it. But the fact that I have to go into about:config to *actually* turn off the telemetry, that's kind of shady. Not nearly as shady as #google is, no, but it's not complete transparency.

@smallsees I'm not 100% certain if it's this telemetry or not, but they sure as hell have a lot more telemetry enabled than just those options. If you go into about:config and search for 'telemetry' then you'll see a bunch of telemetry enabled. They even have telemetry that tells them if the user has turned telemetry on/off.

I’m not against #wayland being the future and pretty much the present. But #X11 isn’t dead yet.

@hyde that’s odd. A / is ‘search’ so you can easily search for something in a config
