And if someone says « but he won the popular vote », I will scream.Yes, that’s the problem. The problem isn’t that this fringe dictator spewing conspiracies and lies every single time he speaks has SOME supporters. The problem is that regular, normal people also were convinced by his crazy shit. That’s the problem. Normal people are now falling for this scam, again. More people now think this shit is fine. Preferable, even. That’s what difficult to swallow. Humanity is moronic.

@EUCommission « I warmly congratulate fascism, disinformation and Russian interference for their victory ».That’s not it, try again and rephrase that.

@fabyk @kernellogger @tuxedocomputers Maybe, I’ll admit this doesn’t seem like an issue: they relicense everything when upstreaming, so there’s no incompatibility, anyone can still grab the code and build the DKMS drivers package to add it to another distro (done in a COPR repo for Fedora, IIRC), and all the code of these drivers is open source.Standard practice for stuff they wouldn’t be accepted as-is in the kernel?

@gamingonlinux We’ll have to wait for the size and thickness, and the angle of the grips, but this will probably not work for me. Symmetrical sticks placed in the middle of the controller, with touchpads on the way where my fat hands will likely activate them all the time…Sounds like a recipe for thumb and wrist pain for me personally :/

@BrodieOnLinux @gamingonlinux Thé deck is fine, because the grips are horizontal and straight, and the sticks very close to the sides of the device, so the thumb rotation is natural. On that controller, it seems like the opposite

@gamingonlinux @BrodieOnLinux Haha yeah, we’ll see. Ergonomics isn’t an exact science; and doesn’t always work for everyone: AirPods fall out the ears of a fair few people, the PS4 controller was a nightmare for some, and some think the Xbox one controller isn’t good, the Duke managed to get into production, etc..It can be an awesome controller for a bunch of people, and a nightmare for others :)

@BrodieOnLinux @gamingonlinux Yeah, and honestly, I’m just happy they’re making it! Even if it ends up not working for me personally, it’s another option that we know will work 100% with Linux, so that’s always good

@meatlotion @gamingonlinux @BrodieOnLinux Yeah, it really depends, for me, the DualShock 4 is one of the worst controllers I used, it just hurts my hands after 30 minutes, but we’re all anatomically different, so everyone will have different experiences

Here are the results for the community poll I ran last week, on #Linux desktop and WM customization. The results were a bit surprising to me, and seem to indicate that while a lot of people take advantage of the various layout options, themes and icons don't get changed a lot:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHCLY7CIvQ0

@bp @dflxh No, that’s where YOU decided to take that line of thought. What I’m saying is: yes we need to know about these beliefs and then make the decision on what is acceptable for us.I draw my own lines where I want them. I decide what’s good or bad for me. You do the same. What I’m saying is: get some information about someone’s beliefs or acts so you can make an informed decision. Doesn’t mean I want to regulate other people’s beliefs.

@bp @dflxh The topic was « why are people so unwilling to know what beliefs or acts someone holds or performed, when we’re talking about code ».My answer was : we need to know about these beliefs or acts, so we can make a decision.I never said I get to decide what’s acceptable. Any individual or project makes that decision for themselves, and that’s why they need to know what the person creating something thinks or does :)

We're seeing a lot of initiatives across Europe and the EU to replace Microsoft services with #Linux and #OpenSource solutions. This could be massive for Linux and the entire community, so I'm sharing my thoughts on why this is happening, why it's great, but also why it could still very much die down very quickly:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGt2pZg7dJY

I'm aware the Podcast server is currently down, looks like a backup was initiated last night and never properly completed, which makes the server unavailable;I'm currently restoring another backup to another instance and making sure the domain points to that instance while I find out what's wrong and fix it :)
