The fact that TERFs think that public toilets are some weird, sacred, inviolable bastion of women's safety says an awful lot about their connection to reality, to be honest.

Brian Kilmeade is a disgusting, bloviating slug but when he, on live tv, suggests that we murder people who can't afford a home he is only saying out loud the subtext of policies backed enthusiastically by a lot of so-called liberals.

Here in #Indianapolis our "blue" city council backed ordinances to subject folks without homes to arrest if sleep outside and don't seek homeless shelters.By last count, Indy has less than 50% of the beds required to house our homeless population on any given night. Many of those beds are in places that folks consider more dangerous than sleeping on the street. That's not an irrational fear. Most of our emergency shelters are privately funded by charities and run on a thin dime.

I can walk 4 blocks from any given bus stop in the city and find *young* queer kids who've been tossed from their homes for being gay or trans or whatever and have absolutely zero safe places to go sleep for the night.

Go talk to the folks at IYG. Their director is a friend of mine. When she talks about finding kids sleeping behind the dumpster outside the facility, she cries. And she is a *tough* bitch who doesn't cry about much. Those kids don't have some magic resource that will get them a job and a place to sleep and healthcare and a ride to school. These are the people Brian Kilmeade wants to lethally inject because they have the misfortune to not be able to afford to live in our broken society.

AND there are a lot of adults in the same situation. I don't know where these idiots get the idea that resources just "happen." That there's somehow food and shelter and jobs and healthcare out there and people are just too dumb or lazy or whatever to take advantage. it's just not reality. It's SO disconnected from reality. I've slept outside. I've been stuck with no place to go. It's scary. Nobody wants it.

This is the shit that assholes like Gavin Newsom, our so-called liberal saviors, are enabling when they pander to the business interests on this issue. It is *business* that wants to kill folks who are too poor to have a home. Businesses and wealthy homeowners demand that city councils and mayors make sure that there are no unsightly spectacles of human poverty near their front doors. Visible poverty is bad for business. Bad for property values.

I've done more in the last 2 weeks, personally, to fight Trump than like almost any rando on the internet has done in their entire lives. I know what's at stake and I know I'm not supposed to criticize Dems. When the time comes I'll do my bit the way I always have, even when it hurt - like a good soldier. I won't compromise this value. No way. We have got to fix the politics of homelessness because it is getting fucking *dark* out there for them.

Dear normies and the media. Learn the difference between a rally and a protest.I've led both. They have different goals and different tactics.

Does it have a lineup of leaders, elected officials and tables and booths of various organizations? Does it have a timed program? Is it at a location chosen for safety and accessibility for a large, diverse crowd? Does it have the cooperation of local law enforcement? That's a rally.Does it last all day or even days? Are speakers secondary? Is it near a specific visible symbol of the problem? Does it occur regardless of local law enforcement? Does it inconvenience folks? That's a protest.

I'm an optimist by nature. I don't think art is valuable because of what it depicts or even what it costs in money to make or buy. It's valuable because of its story: how it happened, why it happened, and why all of that made it compelling enough that humans wanted to experience it.""Someone told a computer to make this, so the computer did so and and put it on Facebook. Other computers liked it enough to get humans to notice it and it gave them a giggle" isn't a story with any value.

I do think AI is harming artists right now. But I also think it's empty, ultimately. Devoid of anything that truly gives art value. And I think that's why it won't ever replace the creative spirit.

nobody can afford healthcare, electricity or groceries. masked agents of the federal government are abducting and executing people in the street. we've lost the right to abortion. homelessness is approaching record levels. we're probably going to invade greenland. we may never have a free and fair presidential election again. but hey at least we got the like 3 total trans girls who were playing college volleyball kicked off their teams. hope it was worth it.

So let me get this right... ... the guy who owns a website that lets people create and share child pornography on demand would like you to believe there's nothing notable about him trying to get an invite to a "wild" party with the world's most infamous child rapist. Again, just trying to get the story straight here.

The "flood the zone" strategy works because it presents you with a thousand wrongs -- each of which seem equally worth your energy. The best solution is to pick the thing that *you* have the best toolkit for, and work that patch. We've all got a place where we can fit in best.

If someone is telling you "don't concentrate on *this* wrong, we need to you stop doing that and come over and focus on *this* wrong" -- that is usually just not helpful.Trust people to know how to pick the thing they are nearest to, or are best placed to help with. But you do have to do *something.* That's not negotiable.
