If anyone out there is using a manual push mower, how are you liking it and do you have a particular brand you recommend? I'd love to ditch my gas mower for one, cut the grass in near silence with no emissions 🙌

White mulberry really testing the limits of my desire to protect trees. What a noxious weed (where it’s not native, here in the US at least). Feels like 90% of my yard work is pulling up rampant seedlings or cutting them down when their tap root gets too deep.

I haven't used Google Chrome in a very long time but I had been using a browser based on Chrome, but finally had enough of Google's greasy fingers on my data so I'm ditching that browser plus switching from Gmail to Proton Mail (based in Switzerland), and switching to alternatives to every Google product I had been using (like wego.here.com for maps). It's almost 9am on Saturday morning, so it's time for our neighbor with the noisy gas leaf blower to emerge and blow the pine needles off his driveway that he rarely uses, and then off his roof. Maybe a secret Santa will bring him a battery powered one for Christmas 😈

After a few days off I've reconsidered and I'll stay put here I think. No need to let 2 people spoil what has otherwise been a pretty nice experience here.Pretty chill weekend for the first time in a while...wife is out of town for the day, just me and the doggos. The plant room is coming along nicely...added a huge comfy bean bag chair, humidifier, and today I'll be setting up a tension rod thingamajig from which to hang some trailing house plants like Pothos, Hoya, etc. Ordered a sound machine which will get here in a few days. Going to be a really nice "quiet room" to just chill out.
