       @aral Unfortunately, I don't think Europe is very far from reaching that point. ~20% of the population in most countries are openly voting for parties supporting fascism. At the same time more "moderate" centre-left and centre-right parties (and their supporters) have been acting increasingly more hostile against non-natives and supporting ever-increasing measures aimed against them.I believe that the anti-immigration rhetoric adopted by most major European parties paved the way for stuff like this to start happening in Europe. Just as anti-Semitism paved the way for the fascists in Germany and Italy.
