supposedly hot take - polyfills don't fucking belong in librariesthis has been discussed as back as 2017, yet somehow people like ljharb still exist and people keep falling for his "supporting node 0.4" premise.he is THE reason the web is such a bloat, smhif you need to support older envs - you polyfill/desugar shit yourselfthe only recent thing in js i know of that can't really be polyfilled are bigints (primarily bc they have their own typeof and work with math operators), but most of the other apis can and should be polyfilled, by the app.

i hate macosto use keychain and store shit in secure enclave your app needs to be signed and have correct entitlements. even for local developmentand to sign an "app" i need to put my binary into an "app-like" folder structure (whatever.app/Contents/MacOS/whatever) and sign the .appbut! to provide the correct entitlements you have to use a "provision profile" – simply passing them to codesign --entitlements isn't enough, the app will just SIGKILL. and the only way (i found) to get a provision profile without a valid dev cert is to... steal it from an app built by xcode, lol. because it's issued by the apple backend on a per-bundleid per-device basis.:neocat_googly_woozy:

is there a single reason not to use CONNECT when using http proxies? even if i indeed proxy plain http traffic, not doing that seems too much of an abstraction leak lolwikipedia mentions that Since all traffic is encapsulated inside normal GET and POST requests and responses, this approach works through most proxies and firewallsbut like, it's still not a "normal" GET/POST, normal http requests don't start with a protocol :/

i see that curl does avoid using CONNECT unless neededbut if im implementing a general-purpose tcp proxy layer, it seems like just ignoring anything except CONNECT is the way to go, esp considering that 99.9% servers should still support CONNECT (for https at least)bc otherwise i'd have to sniff the content before establishing the connection :neocat_googly_woozy:
