Hello. I am new in this server, yet not new to Mastodon. My previous instance "just vanished" a couple of weeks ago, and it hasn't come back.I read and write much. I wish to be considered a good writer some day, but I think I do it reasonably well so far. I don't update often. In social media sites, I am more a reader than a writer. Still, rest assured I will read you often.#introduction

@InvaderXan Mainly the fact so many people do not wear face masks. As I see it, that is to be very socially irresponsible. Your health matters. Other people's health matters too.

@InvaderXan Memes helped a lot, also chatting, yet the main one was to go out everyday to walk.

@InvaderXan I am not feeling paranoid about the disease. I just wish things will not be exactly the same once this is over. We have lived and witnessed many changes during the pandemic: clean skies, more time with family, people sharing with the poor like they did not do before. We should not go back to the normal selfish, consumerist and pleasure-craving society we had before. We deserve better.

@seth …and there is not any algorithm trying to guess what you want to see next along an ad. Just a pure community.

@rustybrick Just do not use disavow at all. That is a much better policy.

@kaixin Use an email client, like Thunderbird, add your Yahoo! account with either POP or IMAP protocol, and let the software download a copy of all your messages for you.POP will download it from the server and erase the copy on Yahoo! servers. IMAP will synchronize your emails so that they are a copy of server and computer.Hope this helps.

@kaixin I think you cannot switch it to POP. You would need a new configuration. You can opt to leave a copy of every email on the server, but if you don't, your email client copy will be your last copy (backups are recommended). There is no bulk download, but you should still get everything.Thunderbird stores all emails in one file. You can switch to one-email-per-file mode, but I haven't tried it. Test it first, I guess. There are other mail clients to explore if you need that.
