@PixelfedLabs Really liking the look of the UI, very polished looking while still being minimalist.

@purism I know it opens up a bag of issues with both Open Source and Restricted Drivers available, but are there any plans in the future for any size of Librem laptop to have nVidia or ATI graphics capability?

@purism Thanks! I expected there was a well thought out reasoning, great to get a good clear answer. I don't expect it'll impact my next laptop purchase, for games its now mostly older games that the Intel graphics can handle :)

@kev I couldn't agree more, I specifically chose WriteFreely for my platform because I wouldn't have to wrestle with comments as an option. Instead, I put meaningful public contact details on an About page, which allows for discussion but under the eyes of places like a moderated Mastodon or other Fediverse instance.

@kev I think it would be worthwhile, just as in the days before FB and these big platforms we had Web Rings and such to find like minded content to follow.

@kev Excellent read Kev! I have not been heavily set either way. My Write Freely sites are white based, but my OnePlus phone defaulted to dark mode, worth playing around with so e settings!

@kev It's pretty neat to play with. I'm really happy with my WriteFreely sites, but likewise am going to explore Hugo and Jekyll with Git, after reading what @tomdeb has posted so far.

@mike @VikingKong Good discovery, I'll have to look at it again. I have a CodiMD instance set up, which I like, but it does not play nice with my high latency work connection. Fpr the file syncing, I heavily use Resilio Sync so the flat files can be on my phone, rather than relying on other cloud storage services. I run one of my Sync nodes in my self hosted VPS so my laptop does not need to be left on.

@kev Hah, I'll watch for the transition, as I already added The Meta to my Miniflux RSS server :P

@kev Good read, I've been having the same debates, as I started to create seperate blogs, with TechZerker being about Tech amd Games, then a seperate general personally rambling blog, and then an Auto and Racing one... but I'm thinking similar... TechZerker is my main online ID beyond real name, so maybe it too just becomes an everything blog, and tags can help seperate if someone only wants to see Tech or Racing related content... hmm.

@kev I had similar, and found the problem was I needed the mouse higher to flatten my wrist angle. With my wrist bent back a bit using the trackball, my hand hurt similar...

@adalbertsen Aye, I've been trying it on a spare phone, and overall I like where they are going. But you are very correct, given they are not FOSS, I expect they are gathering at least some data. However, they are based I'm Germany, as far as privacy laws go, and intend to sell the final launcher product... so I'm hopeful they'll stay away from ads and aggressive data capture. The privacy policy is posted in German, so I have not translated it yet...

@adalbertsen Awesome find, I'm all for good RPG games like this that aim for no ads or microtransactions. Been purging a lot of games from my OnePlus in favour of paid up front games, ditching the freemiums.
