       Why did websites start cropping pictures to 16x9 or whatever the aspect ratio is they all use? it looks almost universally terrible, ruining almost every picture that is posted.genuine question: is there a good reason to do this???

       similarly, don't use "policeman" or "policewoman". consider a more inclusive term, such as "pig" or "bastard".

       my son has taken to keeping some hot wheels cars in a ziplock bag "to keep them fresh". recently he requested a second bag to put the first bag in, so the cars will be - his words - "double fresh"

       i get that Linux gets flack for having a sharp learning curve, and it's true that hardware compatability can be a challenge...but dang, i just printed 60+ pdfs with a single simple command:lp -d PRINTERNAME *.pdfthat would have taken ages if i had to point and click and load every single one.#linux #commandLine

       i love Internet radio because it totally relieves the anxiety of selecting the next thing to listen to.no listening counts to worry about. i don't need to pause it because it's completely out of my control.@somafm just keeps playing.

       a friend of mine is a truck driver and today he was training a new hire, who he described as "an old redneck dude". he said it was going alright until the old dude said "you know about them transgender folks?"... uh oh"yeah I'm thinking if them transgender folks can get such nice beards with testosterone maybe i should see if i can get it too, maybe finally get a nice beard growing in here..."everything turned out better than expected!gender affirming care for everyone!

       I'm a little frustrated that trans people and drag have become popularly conflated.but also attacks on drag queens are attacks on us all and i will stand in high-heeled solidarity with my theatrical sisters.trans is not drag. drag is not trans. but dammit, people should be able to present however they damn well please, at any time.down with legislative heteronormativity.down with heteronormativity of all kinds! ✊
