Huh. I didn't realize this particular fact (from the Mastodon intro blog):"Hashtags are a really important thing on Mastodon. In fact, they are the only part of the content of toots that is searchable. Hey cis friends! I want to help you understand some stuff about the #trans experience that can be confusing (including to myself, before I figured out I was trans). FYI, this is intended as a 101 course, skipping a lot of nuance and detail.Let's begin with terminology. "Trans man" means a man, frequently someone who was born with their body in the wrong configuration. Likewise, a "trans woman" is a woman. Don't overthink these. The term says who they really are, not who they were.

This picture is going to be printed in history books as a turning-point for transgender people in the US. The open question is, which direction will the turn be in?I don't know, and I don't have ideas for what I can do, but we are on the cusp of big, scary changes that will affect everyone, not just trans people, not just minorities.If you were waiting for a call to action, here it is. @PrismaticIris Agreed, that's what seems pretty plausible to me, too. That's why I think this is an inflection point. Either people sit back and say "welp, nothing I can do!" and the fascists continue unabated, or this is the point where The People finally start to see what's actually happening. Maybe not exactly this moment with Rep Zephyr, but this broader moment of new laws and restrictions and frankly waving-flags of fascism.
