What is effective altruism? Does anyone have a starting point?

TIL: "Co-operative Commonwealth" was commonly used in the UK-labour movement before WW1 to denote a socialist society.

Don't know, that term has a nice ring to it. I like it. Guess it has its complications too.

Which angles/viewpoints towards anarchism do you find the most interesting, that others do not care much about?

I believe it would be a good thing to look out for connections between concepts.I.e. between the (anarcho-)syndicalist regionalism/localism on one side and Bioregionalism. Add in Flemings' approach to re-regionalization for the next economy and Max Neefs needs-based economy.Add a layer of agrarianism, maintenance of LTS-infrastructure and make craft-work and repair important again.

Common claim about anarchism: they think you can overthrow capitalism and the state overnight. Kropotkin: "it is not by a revolution lasting a couple of days that we shall come to transform society . . . it is a whole insurrectionary period of three, four, perhaps five years”And even that is a short estimation when accounting these days power structures.

"Kropotkin is of course just one guy who based his predictions on the French revolution. Fabbri, in comparison, wrote “however extensive and radical a revolution may be, before it manages to be victorious completely and worldwide not one but many generations must elapse"."

Kropotkin later wrote: "For we must not forget that it is not by a revolution lasting a couple of days that we shall come to transform society in the DIRECTION posed by anarchist communism".

"The First Schism in modern history was the Industrial Revolution."hm. When does this modern history begin? 1500? 1600? The more it reaches back, the less right does this statement is.

"It's demonstrably not 'simply human nature' to annihilate all around us. No, it's the nature of *this particular human culture.* Human potential is so much more, and that's why conflating the two is so toxic."— Shaun Chamberlin
