       @pid_eins suid programs executing in the environment of the parent process means that I might become root in a user namespace and get the filesystem view of the current mount ns. This won't work with your approach, will it?

       @BrodieOnLinux The "potentially unsafe" rating comes from "static permissions", i.e. the flatpak manifest containing permissions to (potentially) poke a hole in the sandbox. If an app starts using the portal for USB access, it can drop the static `all` or at least `usb` device permission.Portals are the thing that apps have to use to not get classified as "potentially unsafe" and that's why we're trying to add more portals for the remaining use cases.
