@nate_river Was neglected when I was a kid. Got internet access rather early. Stumbled across csem, started viewing and downloading it when I was a kid. I guess at the time I just didn't see anything wrong with it. No one had ever told me it was wrong. I also raped a kid I was babysitting. I knew it was wrong, but at the time, I was extremely distressed because of some events, and had stopped caring about doing the right thing. I had been planning it out for a long time.Eventually cops found out about both and came knocking on my door. Separated me from my victim. Didn't get put in jail, because I'm a minor. But it was a wake up call.I'm in therapy now. I'm no longer pro contact. It was easy to ignore at the time but now I know what I have done and its full magnitude and the guilt and shame weigh on me every day. But I'm glad it's this way rather than me continuing to hurt people. It's better.

Seeing rehabilitation discourse today. Your daily reminder that the registry should go, and so should prisons. Punishment only furthers harm, when we should be focusing on individual healing.
