My mother got really into drying flowers, and the family was in its ghost town exploration phase in the southwest, fun, kind of weird, hallucinatory sunlight, glass turned purple from the light. She knew of a drift of powdery white sand, and we'd stop by for a harvest. Fill a container, half full of the sand, carefully lay out the flower and gently sift sand to cover it, forget it for a while. Kind of amazing results, I remember globe mallow and penstemon 😊

I turn around from boiling the kettle, and I can't really ignore that, so we're off to the races. The jays wait on the sidelines. Missing the Disney squirrel that cleans the smudges off the window 😆
