       @matthannon My garden has blackberries in profusion. I can't reach them :(There's a lack of apples for the blackberry-and-apple crumble anyway. Plums were totally absent, after a splendid showing of blossom in the spring. Thank goodness for #Crowdfarming and Spain's tropiterranean fruits. It'll be a winter of mango sorbet.

       @ParadeGrotesque People forget really quickly under the influence of propaganda. It's so successful, I wish it wasn't almost always used for evil (perhaps those with ethics find the methods of propaganda too repugnant?).

       @breadandcircuses I live in a small village, no public transport, and can't ride a bike. Hiring a pony and trap to do a weekly shop (16km away) would work - except that's hugely expensive. At least, it is at the moment. Hmm, opportunity. As long as you don't live in Dallas.

       @bastianallgeier I drove from Dresden to Prague with spare time so didn't keep to a route, and remember the astonished joy when I went over a little bridge and realised I was in Poland. Going along the road beside the river was a revelation. Sticks in the ground on each side, painted with the colours of the appropriate flag. The river is not wide - a serious long-jumper could cross it - and THAT is a border? What nonsense humans perpetrate.

       @Haikyoneko @seanbc @bespacific Some hosts don't rent out a second property: they're still the old-school airbed offerers (or like me, rattling around in a big house that nobody wants to buy). Having said that, I've deleted my account. There are other platforms, which haven't yet gone putrid.
