Hello fedi, on Weds, after four days of fairly persistent fever and chills, I was urged to go to the ER. It turns out I have a blood infection, and caught it just in time. I had already developed pneumonia. Nevertheless, it has been several very hard days. Hopefully I am out tomorrow. It all depends on my blood culture results.

My cardiovascular health took a huge, huge hit. I am only just recovering, having some gentle training sessions on the bike. My H&H numbers are coming back to normal.

It's about 0F with Windchill out there. Took an age for my car to warm up, I thought the thermostat was dead because it just stayed at zero after the steep hill at the bottom of my road. The engine makes a disconcerting growl when it's this cold, so I take it very easy to ensure the oil gets a chance to warm up and get into the small clearances. My son kept turning the HVAC up because 'it's just not working' and I had to remind him to wait until the temp showed 3 bars. Bless him.

Just shovelled 50ft path of snow about 10" deep. Am absolutely knackered. How people cope with this in places where they get this routinely just staggers me. Deeply envious of the guy up the street with a snow blower, effortlessly clearing his property. The bastard. #Snow

Looking at the roads (no Asphalt visible anywhere around here) on the 511 traffic cameras and we found this bus. He's stuck. These roads are normally very, very busy. Traffic is low to non-existent. #snow

Finally dug the car out. Took fucking forever. There's so much packed snow around the rimes that I got pretty bad wheel hop on the freeway. It's still so cold that nothing is melting so we're going to be stuck with the gigantic snow drifts for some time.

@Kritixx It looks very beautiful. Many years ago, my dad had a sailing boat. We used to stay on it, and there was a local family of swans. I made the mistake once of feeding them, and from that day at 0600 every day they would tap on the hull, wanting more.
