@c @deadheat @Jim there's too much licensing and other bullshit involved, especially from the PS1 era and on where voice acting became a thing.i'd also imagine they have to renew these licenses for sale across multiple consoles (ie, wii to WiiU to Switch), which is likely one of the primary reasons VC never made its way over to the switch.emulation for certain consoles is also at a level where it's far superior to playing on legitimate hardware, and the other consoles are catching up fast.

@AfroRyan @Jim i used to hate subversion in stories until i saw ranking of kings, then i realized the hatred i felt towards the device stemmed from the fact that most of it's usage was either just weirdly mean-spirited (ie, let's deconstruct this beloved character and make them miserable) or some avant-garde retard trying to be different for the sake of being different.

@JubtheNub @Jim @SavingOn5s @Bad_Banner i don't even think that's a bad idea, but the issue with any widespread change is that it needs to go through the government, which is filled with retards whose primary interest is staying in power.for every politician who legitimately cares about their constituents, you've got 10-20 (if not more) who are voting based on favors, on what lobbyists tell them or who are trying to tack on some completely unrelated bill that will weigh the whole thing down.this isn't even taking into account legitimate bad actors or how fucked implementation will be if it does get passed.
