@ParadeGrotesque Yes I like it very much, too. It gets even better in later episodes. Good actors and great character development. Enjoy!

@ParadeGrotesque There's no on-going work on rsu(4) so I wouldn't expect much on the RTL8192SU front. Except that it should not get any worse than it is now.In my experience rsu(4) quality mainly depends on the adapter. If the adapter doesn't have an external antenna poking out, it's going to suck.

@ParadeGrotesque The Linux driver was written by Realtek and will use all 11n features the hardware supports (4OMHz wide channels, MIMO, frame aggregation). Whereas the OpenBSD driver runs this hardware in 11g mode.

I have managed to get AX201 devices working with iwx(4):iwx0 at pci0 dev 20 function 3 "Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201" rev 0x00, msixiwx0: hw rev 0x350, fw ver 48.1335886879.0, address 0c:7a:15:xx:xx:xxThis took a whole month even though the code changes are quite small. There was a subtle bug in writing a 64 bit DMA address to device registers which prevented the firmware from loading.Tracking this down took a loooong time. Finally figured it out this morning :flan_hurrah: #OpenBSD #wifi

Do you want to use RAID 1C (mirror + crypto) with #OpenBSD softraid(4) in your setup, and can you invest time to help make it happen?I am working on code for this feature in my spare time, which is limited since I am taking care of our newborn πŸ‘Άβ€‹I need help with systematic testing on multiple architectures (amd64, sparc64, etc.) of possible configurations and failures:passphrase/keydisk2 or more mirrored diskslet disks fail and rebuildread/write datare-test after issues get fixed

@sh "EU states" is highly exaggerated. This is a proposal of a non-binding resolution ("should", not "must") by the Austrians. If people elect stupid goverments we are going to get all sorts of stupid proposals submitted at the EU level.

Among the flurry of new users trying out #OpenBSD 6.8 I have seen several reports of trouble with connecting to #wifi networks. In many such cases, the access point will be using insecure WPA1-compatible configuration settings. This won't work out of the box because OpenBSD wants those access points to be fixed or replaced. If possible, configure the AP for WPA2/AES only.Only if necessary, enable WPA1/TKIP with ifconfig's wpaprotos command at your own risk. WPA1/TKIP is broken.

It makes me happy to see that at least some people out there, who (to my knowledge) don't even have any stake in BSD, do get it: https://www.olowe.co/2020/10/got.html(also: what a nice blog in plain html :flan_aww:)

If your #wifi access point has management frame protection enabled and you are using #OpenBSD clients, you'll want this patch: https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-tech&m=160737822724279&w=2I still hope that actual MFP support will happen on OpenBSD some day. There is code for MFP but it needs to be tested and perhaps improved before it can be enabled. Help would be welcome :flan_heart:

@heavenly_general You're piling onto someone who actually filed a harrassment court case (that's a lot of effort and risk to take), went through a very painful year at their job, and despite all that even had the incredible decency to only publicize any of this after the court had already issued a verdict.@aral

@jz If such high-profile talks were scheduled on day 3 or 4 instead of the first segment of day 1 they'd probably suffer less from technical issues.
