I am a member of Fosstodon and have been pretty happy with the server and it's volunteer moderators/administrators. Anyone interested in the #Fosstodon English Only policy discussion, please make sure that you have read this:https://hub.fosstodon.org/why-fosstodon-is-english-only/It may not change your opinion, but it will hopefully answer many of the most obvious questions that I'm seeing today. To my knowledge there was no significant opposition to this very public policy on a very large server a week ago. 1/2

Was to asked today on Mastodon, that I not let my hatred of Musk diminish my hatred of Zuck.Would just like to state that hate is destructive force that I try to keep out of my life. I can dislike or passionately oppose the things people do or policies they support without hating them.This "acceptable" encouragement of hatred is disappointing. Not sure if I should just block these folks or recognize these posts as reminders of just how destructive and widespread a force hate is.

I'm experimenting with Buffer for managing and scheduling my posts to Mastodon. I often like to write posts very late at night and would rather send them in the morning. I used this before for Twitter. Didn't realize how well it seems to work with Mastodon. https://buffer.com/mastodon #feditips

I don't know how a country finds "justice" after a brutal attack like this, but I understand the need for a just response.But this thirst for vengance only ensures the conflict continues and that innocent people on both sides will continue to suffer horrific violence for "generations" to come.

I will probably block folks talking about punching Nazis (seeing this in my feed today). We have enough violence in this world today, and frankly I don't trust most people to determine who is a Nazi and who isn't. This whole meme seems to think that Nazis are just going to accept the punch and that this won't just lead to escalating violence that will end with a innocent bystander in the hospital or dead.This kind of moral certitude combined with violence almost always leads to worse things.

Two episodes into Dune Prophecy and I'm still undecided. However, I really think you need to give a series like this some time. Some similar series take 5-6 episodes to hit full stream. So many characters to introduce and so much world building to do. Don't like that the set the series 10,000 years prior to the movies. This seems like an absurd abmount of time. Think about how things have changed on earth in 10,000 years.But, this is a minor quibble. #TV #TVShows #Dune #DuneProphecy
