Trauma #1Digital artworkThis piece has its foundation in an incident two years ago, when I was physically attacked while standing up for my daughter against a vicious bully - her uncle, no less. I was deeply troubled by the injustice and violence of the attack, which plays in flashback when I am asleep and returns to me unbidden at unexpected times. Waterfall ICMThis is the same waterfall featured in my earlier post from my country park project, but given a totally different 'treatment' using intentional camera movement and a monochrome edit. My foray into contemporary Japanese fiction continues with this charming novel by Sosuke Natsukawa, about a young boy who inherits a secondhand bookshop from his grandfather and, with the help of a talking cat, begins a voyage of self-discovery. Friends, we received the awful news yesterday that our beloved Border terrier Jess has a large brain tumour.She started having seizures in January but recently they escalated dramatically and an MRI has revealed why.She is 12, so it will be palliative care, plus lots of treats and cuddles, for as long as we have her.We are devastated.I will be quiet on here for a while.#dogs

Spring and SummerThese acrylics complete my seasons set. Now that the nights are drawing in, I think I might revive an old project that began during the pandemic.When I was working nights from home, I began taking long, rambling walks around the area where I live to de-stress before trying to sleep.Using only my mobile phone, I started recording scenes that caught my eye, and the Night Walks In Suburbia project was born.#photography #MobilePhonePhotography #night #suburbia
